Steven Legg (zenmode) Yet another post-apocalyptic 3rd-person action game based in a dystopian future? Yep, we're a culture obsessed with our own demise. Scivelation is all of this layered on top of the Unreal 3 engine, and coming 3Q10 for Xbox 360.

Scivelation has been announced for a 3Q10 release on the Xbox 360.  With visuals rendered on the Unreal 3 Engine—and a plot influenced by the works of Orwell, Milton, and Dante—this action-oriented game promises to force players to run, gun, sneak, and dive through a variety of post-apocalyptic areas.

Society has collapsed in a massive upheaval caused by an insane cult of religious extremists determined to make true their apocalyptic prophecies.  The tattered remnants of society have been reconstructed into a single culture, governed by the Regime – a theocratic government whose goal is to remove symbols of individuality from all remaining humans.  Opposing the Regime are a rag-tag group of old believers whose actions have been deemed heresy.  This group has resorted to entering a fierce state of mobilization in order to craft of place in society of their own design – where they might find solace from the oppression of the Regime.

  1. ...and the vikings rejoice.

  2. lol, I agree with your subheading about being a culture obsessed with our own demise.

  3. Agree here too Pablo,

It's not only games that are feeding this obsession.

Think of all the "Humans are BAD" movies for the last 5 years, starting with "Day After Tomorrow", and ending with "Avatar", "2012" and "The Book of Eli".

I wish Hollywood would get off this genre, its getting kinda old...
