Dress up like a gigantic angry walnut and win a prize!

plants_vs_zombies_walnutNew York fans of the popular PopCap game “Plants vs. Zombies” will be getting a delightful surprise this Halloween, PopCap revealed today in a press release.

New York City’s 36th Annual Village Halloween Parade is the largest Halloween gathering in the United States, and your favorite peashooters will be in attendance. Plants vs. Zombies, which is a sponsor of the parade, will be sending a throng of Plants and Zombies to invade the streets of New York, leaving havoc (and peas) in their wake.

“We wanted to give those rabid PvZ fans a fun time and place to gather and celebrate their passion for the game. What better way than marching up 6th Avenue in New York’s historic Halloween parade”, said Garth Chouteau, PopCap’s VP of Public Relations.

PopCap is calling for people to show up in PvZ costumes for the event, with a contest to follow the conclusion of the parade. The best PvZ outfits will win prizes, which have not yet been revealed.

PopCap is also inviting local zombie lovers ZombieCon and NYC Zombie Crawl to the event, in the hopes of having the largest zombie parade gathering in history. Ahh, to be in New York with a shotgun on Halloween.

So, loyal PvZ fans in New York, get suited up in your favorite cob cannon attire, and get winning those prizes! The parade will take place at 7pm on October 31 in Greenwich Village.
