For gamers who play one of Nexon’s many F2P titles: Maple Story, Combat Arms, Mabinogi, and Dungeon Fighter Online – Black Friday pricing is available throughout the weekend in the Cash Shops.  Discounts are variable, as listed below:

  • Maple Story – Discounted items will be released every day starting on Nov. 27th and ending on Nov. 30th.  The sale starts at 8 am, 11 am, and 2 pm PST – each sale will last three hours, after which the sale items will be changed.  Players will find items discounted anywhere from 30 to 65 percent off their original price.
  • Combat Arms—Items will be released in discount bundles from Nov. 27th until Nov. 29th, allowing for up to a 40 percent discount on weapons, gear, and more in each package.  The Black Market will also feature discounts on grenades and some of the most popular weapons available.
  • Mabinogi—Items in the in-game Cash Shop will be discounted at up to 50 percent off the original price, from Nov. 26th to Nov. 30th.
  • Dungeon Fighter Online—Celebrating its first Thanksgiving, players will find a brand new Beginners package for sale, including Life Tokens, health and magic potions and a storage upgrade for a 46 percent discount.  In addition, Avatar Tokens are also on sale for up to a 30 percent discount.

Players can, of course,  acquire NX Cash via Nexon Game Cards or PayPal. Nexon Game Cards are available throughout the United States and Canada at thousands of locations, including a few new retailers such as GameStop, Blockbuster Video and Walgreen’s. Other authorized retailers include 7-Eleven, CVS, Rite Aid, and Toys R Us, among others.

  1. Nexon? One of the most greedy gaming companies? Lower prices that much? That's a new one.

  2. Considering you can play pretty much all of their offerings without having to pay a dime, I'm not sure the 'greedy' tag fits them.

I know, but I have played many of their games in the past and they really started to kill the quality of the games, which was very irritating. I never minded prices until it ended up completely changing the games, and experience. However that is my opinion... they upset me because for a while I really felt that they were doing a good job, but it just slowly got bad. Honestly, I really hope they have gotten better/will get better with that and other problems, they were really a nice company.

  4. Good grief. They create a demand for what are literally imaginary products, and then put them on sale to attract more attention on black friday.

    Go go gadget capitalism.

  5. The virtual economy is the true next economy. It started long before Nexon, though. Linden Labs and Second Life were big pioneers in the 'Real Money for Virtual Stuff' arena.

In unofficial circles, however, just look at the gold farmers in WoW. That's been going on pretty much since the beginning of the game.
