Concluding the Black Mirror trilogy is Black Mirror III. This surreal horror mystery adventure game series aims to be creepy, and does it with a minimalist, non-startling sequence of illustrated scenes. Don’t expect anything to startle you, but do expect to be mildly disturbed as the protagonist, now completely alone after being detained for three weeks at the end of the second game, tries to make sense of his memories, as well as finally solve the mysteries of Black Mirror Castle.
Section 8: Prejudice continues the story of the underrated Section 8. This entry in the story is being released as a relatively inexpensive, download-only title. On top of that, it has more content than the first game, and some engine improvements. The third/first person shooter has a five hour campaign mode, but most of the focus is on its multi-player functionality. With lots of game modes, slick-looking sci-fi combat, lots of new characters and equipment (including a few vehicles,) fans of the first game will surely find something to love here.
The Icrontic spotlight this week shines through the blue and orange ovals of Portal 2. This is the sequel to one of the most beloved games ever made, and early reports indicate that it’s even better than the first—but I don’t have to tell you that. Most of you asshats have already finished the game, and those who haven’t are probably playing it right now, instead of reading this.
